Limnophila is a genus of about 40[1] species of aquatic plant and plants that grow in wet areas. They are native to Africa, Asia, Australia, and Pacific islands, in tropical to subtropical areas.[1]

The submerged leaves resemble those of Cabomba, an unrelated aquatic plant.[2]
